Are donations tax deductible?

No, currently we cannot offer tax deductible donations.

We have applied for but have not yet received DGR status.

*All ticketed events, sale of goods, and services are not charitable donations.

 

Is making an online donation secure?

When donating online to us, your card details are securely processed and encrypted. We ONLY store the last four digits of your card number to verify which transaction is yours.

How can I set up regular direct debit or credit card donations?

Giving monthly is one of the most valuable ways you can support us, thank you.

Regular donations through your Credit Card can be set up online via our donation form. Make sure to tick the Recurring Gift box.

Regular deductions from your bank account can be set up by using our account information to schedule a regular automatic transaction with your bank.

What are the health benefits of joining a women's shed?

A women's shed is an organization that provides a safe and welcoming environment for female members to meet, socialize, learn new skills, and work on projects together.

 

Membership FAQ

 

Can I transfer my membership to another women's shed in WA?

Nope. All groups are independent.

 

Do I have to join for 12 months?

Yep. Membership fee is for a 12 month period running each financial year.

 

How much does it cost per week?

It costs xxx to sign up and then there are different costs for different special events. Read more on our membership page.

 

Once I sign up for a membership, is there a cooling off period for me to change my mind?

How much to join?

Fees are $90.00 per year due each July, this covers public liability insurance and other insurance benefits if they are ever needed.

 

What to bring and what to wear FAQ

 

What to wear

Old fitted clothes which can take some punishment and solid, closed shoes.

 

What not to wear

Scarves, loose sleeves, dangly jewellery or anything else likely to get caught in something.

 

What to bring

A sense of fun, a willingness to pitch in, curiosity and IDEAS.

 

Where can I put my handbag?

At the moment you have to keep it with you. We take no responsibility for stolen or lost stuff. Know anyone who can donate some lockers?

 

Is there an age limit?

Yep. No one under 18 except for special events.

 

Am I too old?

Not at all.

 

Can I bring a friend?

Sure, if they pay for their membership. We are looking at holding monthly open days, your friend is more than welcome to drop in then or attend any of our community ticketed events.

 

Can my membership be paid by NDIS?

Not at the moment

 

Can I bring my carer?

Absolutely. We have a special carers rate. Carers must always stay with clients.

 

I'm in a wheel chair

Come along anyway. Our venue is wheel chair accessible and our activities are suitable for everyone.

What activities are available?

Activities offered in a women's shed vary depending on the interests of the individual members and may include wood working, crafting, gardening, sewing, cooking, and many more topics related to home improvement or hobby activities.

 

Can I visit before joining?

Absolutely. If we're open drop in and visit. Guests are especially welcome on Tuesday mornings for morning tea.

Its where we show you around and set up the guiding rules. Inductions are held weekly on xxx

 

What will my first few visits be like?

A bit of bravery is always needed when trying something new. But everyone is welcoming.

How often do members meet?

Members typically meet once or twice per week to plan events and activities as well as engage in their chosen hobbies. Meetings may be held in person at the local facility or virtually through online meetings platforms such as Zoom or Skype.
